Hey, just wanted to let everyone know that I'm still alive and well! I will be home till the 9th of Feb would like to have a LAN but it looks like I'm 6 days too early, oh well, just wanted to check in.

Impromptu event to show appreciation for our military, Groundhog Day weekend, Saturday, February 2nd. LordRayden is back from Iraq He needs a LAN. Let's put together and make sure he has a great time while he is home!
This event will take place at the home of Black_Knight & Black_Rose starting st noon on Saturday, February 2nd until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday or until everyone has had their fill of fraggin, whichever comes first.
Registration for this event will take place here. Priority given to those who know LordRayden.

| I would like to come. What games dominate your LAN's? If the majority of games can be played on my lappy then I will be in for sure. If not I will have to see what my work schedule looks like. I dont know anyone so you can prioritize accordingly. |

I just picked up copies of UT 3 and crysis, going to give those a try once I finish building my new rig (going with the new AMD "spider" patform setup), but it really doesn't matter to me much

Make sure you get an AM2+ motherboard. Otherwise from what I am hearing you will not see the full potential of the CPU. Its something that pissed me off because I heard the Phenoms were going to be AM2, so I upped to AM2 not to long ago, now hearing you need AM2+ to get the benifits. What can ya do.
Both those games rock. I'm sure you will enjoy them. The downside is I would have to pack up my rig for those games. After my last event it took me two days to find time to setup my rig again. So as long as nothing big comes up in work, count me in!
If needed I could also bring a UT3 server. Though it is a rack mount and sounds like an airplane, its not bad behind closed doors. |

I ordered http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813128074 , so I should be good as far as AM2+ goes, should have it built by next tuesday. I'm leaving the house to pick up my lcd from compusa today.

Yeah, thats the motherboard I was looking at also, if I decided to jump on the phenom. I think I will stick with what I have for the time being as I promised myself I would spend less money on my PC's this year 
I have only seen good reviews from that MB. I wish you luck with it!
What Video card are you going with?
You going to fill up that MB with the 16G of RAM?  |

That will be nice to see in action. The only recommedations I would make is a Raid-0 with 2 Raptors and 2x2G sticks of RAM. Only reason with the RAM is I know in the past running more than 2 sticks put a bit of strain on the memory bus which made running it at full speed and over clocking a little difficult. With you getting the Black Edition I am assuming you like to overclock.
Either way it is a very nice setup! I will come just to see Crysis play on that |

I'd love to discuss a few things with you, but you keep scheduling your LANs on the same dates as Addicted. I had spoken at length to Xero about your LAN when we were both at the last HOBNW LAN.
And, I would discuss somethings on your forums, but it seems dissentors are beaten and have their threads locked.

Just to let everyone know, i got the new rig built a few days ago, runs like a champ, 64 bit windows runs better than I thought it would with games, only 3 days left

Quake 4/battlefield 2 / ut2004 / battle for middle earth 2
